A modern master of the landscape genre, French artist Bernard Gantner has been honored in galleries around the world from Geneva to New York to Tokyo. His work appears in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. He was born in 1928 in Belfort. After studying painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belfort, he moved to Paris and began to study painting in ateliers, galleries and museums. By 1950 his own work was being offered extensively in Paris. Now in his 80s and living in Alsace, he has made some of his remaining paintings available to us .
