Lorna Massie was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she began her formal art training at the Layton School of Art. She graduated from Smith College with a degree in art history and then studied at the Art Student's League in New York City where she mastered printmaking. Her sensitive landscapes are inspired by the New England countryside. She does all of the work in the making of serigraphs with her own hands at her studio. Her work has been singled out by jurors representing the Guggenheim and Whitney museums.
