Alexander Calder (1898-1976)

A third generation painter, born in Philadelphia. Spent much of his life in New York and Paris. At last month's Christies auction, a Calder gouche which used to sell for $60,000, sold for $130,000. Prices of his limited edition lithographs, such as those available here, have continued to rise steadily in each of the last five years. It is increasingly difficult to find top quality Calder signed and numbered lithographs, and these are as beautiful as can be found anywhere .
